Claudepanion
macOS and iOS
The companion for Claude Code: sessions, plan limits, and tool approvals on Mac and iPhone. No servers of our own — your data stays on your devices and in your private iCloud.

1. Overview and Controller
What this is about
Claudepanion consists of a Mac app and an iPhone app that accompany the Claude Code command line: the Mac app shows your sessions and plan limits, the iPhone app brings tool approvals to your phone. Robware operates no servers for this; there are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics services. Data flows in exactly two ways: between your own devices via the private iCloud database of your Apple account, and — to display plan usage — from your Mac to an Anthropic endpoint, authenticated with your own access token.
Controller
The controller responsible for data processing is: Robware, owner Robin Wichmann, Hauptstr. 58c, 21640 Bliedersdorf, Germany. E-mail: kontakt@robware.de

2. Data Processed Locally on Your Mac
Session overview
The Mac app reads the session transcripts stored locally by Claude Code (in the ~/.claude folder) as well as the approval requests of the hook interface. From these it displays the title, project, history, and status of your sessions and stores them locally in the app's database. This content — including chat excerpts and file paths — remains on your Mac, except where it is synchronized to your private iCloud for display on the iPhone (section 3).
Claude Code access token
To display plan usage, the Mac app reads the access token that Claude Code stores in the macOS Keychain. The token is used exclusively for the query to Anthropic (section 4) and is never transmitted to us or any other third party, nor stored elsewhere.
Legal basis
Processing is carried out to provide the app's features on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3. Synchronization via Your Private iCloud (CloudKit)
What is synchronized
So that approval requests appear on your iPhone, the Mac app writes them to the private CloudKit database of your Apple account: the name and summarized input of the requested tool, a risk classification, a summary and excerpts of the ongoing conversation, the device name, the working directory, and the status and your response (approved/denied, optionally with a reason). Notifications are delivered via Apple's push service (APNs).
Who has access
The private CloudKit database is accessible only to devices signed in with your own Apple account. Robware has no access to this data. Storage takes place at Apple under your iCloud agreement; Apple's privacy policies apply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4. Retrieving Plan Usage (Anthropic)
The Mac app periodically queries Anthropic's usage endpoint (api.anthropic.com) — the same query Claude Code itself uses for the /usage command. This transmits your own access token and technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address); the response contains the utilization of your plan limits. The provider is Anthropic; processing may take place in the USA, and Anthropic's privacy policy applies (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the app feature).
5. Face ID / Touch ID
Approvals on the iPhone can be confirmed with Face ID or Touch ID. The biometric check is performed exclusively by the operating system on the device; the app only receives the result (confirmed or not) and never has access to biometric data.
6. What Claudepanion Does Not Do
- No Robware servers: there is no backend infrastructure of ours that data could flow to.
- No analytics services, no crash reporting, no tracking, no ads.
- No accounts and no sign-up with us — the app uses your existing Apple account (iCloud) and your existing Claude account (token).
- No sharing with third parties beyond the services named above (Apple iCloud/APNs, Anthropic).
7. Storage Period and Deletion
Local data remains on your Mac or iPhone until you remove it in the app or by deleting the app. Expired approval requests are automatically marked as expired. Entries stored in your private iCloud can be deleted in your device's iCloud settings (Apple Account → iCloud → Apps syncing to iCloud → Claudepanion); we have no access to that data and therefore cannot delete it for you.
8. Trademark Notice
Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. Claudepanion is an independent project by Robware and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Anthropic.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access to the personal data concerning you (Art. 15), the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21).
